Amos Sims
Senior Pastor
Pastor Amos Sims is an anointed man of God who preaches and teaches with a task of healing and deliverance under the authority of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. He walks with the gift of love and believes in worshipping, praying, and praising God.
Pastor Sims is indeed a man of vision, purpose, and great potential. His mission is to engage in educating, equipping, and empowering believers to live abundant lives, both spiritually and physically, as they serve humanity. Pastor Sims truly believes in teaching, training, and preparing believers to live more productive Christian lives. He is an advocate for intense Bible study, leadership workshops, and encouraging people to become all that God intends for them to be.
Pastor Sims is undeniably a man of few, but wise words. Those whom the Lord calls, He qualifies! (Romans 8:30) Destined by God for leadership, Amos Sims was born in Water Valley, MS on January 15, 1954. He is the sixth of thirteen children born to the late Orice Sims and the late Beatrice Martin Sims.
Not only has Pastor Sims been active within the church, our Pastor has received numerous awards noting his exceptional abilities. He has served as the Mt. Moriah Association Moderator for 12 years. Pastor Sims has attended classes in the Theological Seminary such as Mississippi Baptist Seminary (Coffeeville, MS), Sunday School Publishing Board (Nashville, TN), and Pastor Leadership (Nashville, TN). He also has an Associates degrees in Divinity and in Biblical Studies through Mississippi Baptist Seminary (Jackson, MS).
Pastor Sims is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He and First Lady, Marilyn Sims, have been married for 35 years and have two daughters and a son. He also has two beautiful grandchildren. As a man of God first, then a husband, a father, and a grandfather, Pastor Sims exemplifies the role as the head of a Christ-centered family and sets an example to others who witness his demonstration of love. With the loving model set by Pastor Sims and his family, other families are being rebuilt, and the youth are beginning to rise up! To God be the Glory!
Much like the vision for the building that God gave to Nehemiah, our Pastor has sought God’s will for our church and has led his congregation through many years of growth and blessings.
The future looks bright as the Lord continues to bless, move, and use Pastor Sims, a visionary and leader, to guide the Bayson Chapel M.B. Church congregation from one degree of grace to another.

Tekelvue "TK" Townsend
Minister
TK is a member of Bayson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Water Valley , Ms where he faithfully serves as a minister and pianist. He serves the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Coffeeville, Ms as the Minister of Music and the Interim Minister. TK is the youth director of the Mount Moriah District Association located in Coffeeville, Ms.
TK has recently studied biblical studies at Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Ms and is currently completing his Leadership and Ministry Degree online with Grace Christian University.
TK is employed with Mechanics Bank in Oxford, MS. He is married to Leandrea Townsend and they have one beautiful baby boy.
